DP502: WESLEYAN TRADITION. William Ellington.


DESCRIPTION:

The course is an overview of the United Methodist doctrinal heritage. It will trace the development of doctrine from Wesley to the present and indicate the usefulness of the doctrinal heritage today. It will acquaint the student with the major doctrines of United Methodism.

RELEVANCE FOR MINISTRY:
Required for ordination in the United Methodist Church.

COURSE FORMAT:
The class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:00-5:50 pm from January 12 to February 11 for lecture and discussion.

Class attendance and participation are required. In addition to the reading, there are two (2) closed book examinations plus an open book take-home final.
