CF540: MODELS OF YOUTH MINISTRY. Mark Oestreicher.
DESCRIPTION:
- This course will look at models of youth ministry in both
historical and current contexts. This assumes a preliminary working knowledge
of adolescent development and youth ministry programming. Because the primary
instructor is a practitioner, the course will emphasize the application of
philosophy and ministry models in a variety of settings.
RELEVANCE FOR MINISTRY:
- Expected outcomes from this course include the following:
- Understanding of the history and development of youth ministry in the
United States and Internationally.
- Understanding of current models and philosophies of youth ministry.
- Development of one's own youth ministry philosophy and its practical
implications.
- Exposure to several actual youth ministries and ministers.
- Development of assessment and evaluation strategies.
COURSE FORMAT:
- This course will meet 3 - 5:50pm, Tuesdays, Winter quarter, 1998.
It will consist of lectures, guest lectures, discussions, student presentations
and participatory activities.
