LG561: FRENCH II. Christine Peterson.
DESCRIPTION:
- Building on the introduction provided by French I, this course is
designed to prepare theological students to meet the French language
requirements in the Ph.D. and Th.M. programs. It may also be taken for credit
in the M.Div. and M.A. The course will concentrate on reading and translating
selected passages from La Sainte Bible as well as the writings of French
theologians.
COURSE FORMAT:
- This course will meet on March 27, April 4, 11, 18, and 25 for
four-hour meetings for lecture, discussion, and translation practice.
REQUIRED READING:
- La Sainte Bible. Nouvelle version revised. Louis Segond.
- Palmeri, Joseph and Milligan, E. E. French for Reading Knowledge.
Heinle & Heinle Publishers, Inc., 1969.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Students will read and translate various passages from the
above-mentioned books, as well as from various handouts.
PREREQUISITES:
- LG557 French I, or permission of instructor. Transcript evidence of
prior study required to audit this class.
