LG502B: BEGINNING HEBREW. Marian Steinberg.


DESCRIPTION:

This course is a continuation of LG502A and will focus on the remainder of Hebrew grammar with readings from the Hebrew Bible and from The Authorized Daily Prayerbook. Students will acquire facility in using BHS and other reference tools.

RELEVANCE FOR MINISTRY:
Anyone involved in explicating a life-style and thought system that is ancient is best equipped by understanding the ancient media; one of them is Hebrew.

COURSE FORMAT:
The class time will involve a presentation/explanation of new grammar, reading in Hebrew, address of problems encountered in the homework and unseen translations.

ASSIGNMENTS:
A schedule of assignments will be distributed on the first day of class. This class assumes considerable study from the students who are expected to attend prepared. The final grade depends on class participation, ad hoc quizzes, major exams and a final.

LG502A.

RELATIONSHIP TO CURRICULUM:
Both quarters of the two-quarter sequence fulfill the M.Div. core requirement in Hebrew (HEB).
