LG502: BEGINNING HEBREW. Cheryl A. Brown.


DESCRIPTION:

An intensive introduction to biblical Hebrew, including the elements of Hebrew vocabulary, morphology, and grammar as well as opportunity to gain experience in reading the Hebrew Bible.

RELEVANCE FOR MINISTRY:
To be able to read the Bible in its original languages will significantly enhance one's understanding of the Bible and its message and also give one confidence in interpreting it for oneself and others.

COURSE FORMAT:
This course is an intensive and will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00-4:50 p.m.

ASSIGNMENTS:
Students will have daily homework assignments and vocabulary quizzes. Additionally, there will be a midterm and a final exam.

PREREQUISITES:
Good standing.

RELATIONSHIP TO CURRICULUM:
Meets the M. Div. core requirement in Hebrew (HEB).
