NS531: TEOLOGIA PAULINA. Isaac J. Canales.

DESCRIPTION:

This course, which is offered in Spanish (en Español), provides a sketch of the most prominent theological themes that emerge from Paul's gospel as seen in the Pauline correspondence. Special attention will be given to his thinking about God, Christ, the Holy Spirit and their roles in the stories of salvation and the church.

RELEVANCE FOR MINISTRY:
The course will stimulate the student of Paul to draw frequent parallels between Paul's calling as an urban missionary and pastor and the student's own missionary context among the Hispanic peoples of the Southwest. Since Paul was a contextual theologian, the book by Manuel Ortiz will be used as "the context" within which the Pastor will theologize using Paul as a model.
