NS520: ETICA NEOTESTAMENTARIA Y EL MINISTERIO. Jorge Taylor.
DESCRIPTION:
- The course is designed for pastors, leaders and lay people involved
in Christian ministry. The main purpose of the course is to develop an
awareness of New Testament ethics and an ability to apply those principles to
socio-ethical issues in the ministry. To this end the class will examine the
ethics of Jesus and the Apostle Paul as these are found in the New
Testament.
RELEVANCE FOR MINISTRY:
- The course will help students understand the importance of New
Testament ethical principles in the life of Christians. Students will have a
greater understanding of such socio-ethical problems as poverty, abortion,
sexism, and multiculturalism.
COURSE FORMAT:
- The following teaching styles will be used: lectures, small group
discussion, and role playing.

ASSIGNMENTS:
- Students will read 1000 pages of required reading.
- Students will prepare a typed, double-spaced 8-10 page paper on the New
Testament ethical approach to two of the socio-ethical problems of our time.
- There will be a one-hour midterm.
PREREQUISITES:
- Spanish.
