LD500: LEADERSHIP (4 Units: 160 hours). Michaela O’Donnell-Long


DESCRIPTION: The course teaches students to engage organizational change in congregations and other organizations. The course will specifically address ways to engage the context within which the organization exists.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: The student will (1) demonstrate an understanding of intercultural Christian leadership; (2) reflect theologically about leadership; and (3) describe the implications of this learning for their own contexts.

COURSE FORMAT: This class meets once per week for three hour sessions for a total of 30 hours of classroom instruction for lecture and discussion plus 10 hours of directed learning activities for a total of 40 instructional hours.

REQUIRED READING: 859 total number of pages required.

PREREQUISITES: IS500, IS501, IS502, and IS503 are highly recommended but not required.

RELATIONSHIP TO CURRICULUM: Option to meet the LDR requirement for the 120 MDiv and 80 MATM Programs (Fall 2015).

FINAL EXAMINATION: Yes, in class.
