NT545: BIBLICAL THEOLOGY OF THE NEW TESTAMENT: WHAT IS THE GOSPEL? (Korean) (4 Units: 160 hours). Seyoon Kim.
DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to provide Christian leaders with a study of NT theology, focused on the question “What is the gospel?” Broadly the course consists of two parts: the first part examines Jesus’ life and work to understand his gospel of the Kingdom of God, and the second part deals with the apostolic gospel of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as exemplified in the Pauline corpus. Attention is paid to the issues of interpretation and contextualization. Thus, the course aims at providing Christian leaders with the biblical theological foundation for their diverse ministries in church and society at large.
LEARNING OUTCOMES: Having successfully completed this course, students will have demonstrated an ability (1) to articulate the gospel in its depth and width, (2) to reflect on the significance of the gospel for Christian life, (3) to formulate the gospel for effective presentation for others.
COURSE FORMAT: This one-week intensive course meets for eight hours daily for five days for a total of 40 instructional hours in the classroom for lectures and small group discussions.
