ST819/519: CONTEMPORARY CHRISTOLOGY I: EUROPEAN TRENDS. Colin Brown.


DESCRIPTION:

This is a doctoral seminar, open to a very limited number of advanced master's level students by written permission of the professor. The focus of the seminar is a critical examination of writings on christology by leading European Protestant and Catholic theologians. Attention will be paid to theological method, and biblical, theological and philosophical orientation.

COURSE FORMAT:
The course will meet weekly for a three-hour session. Each week two members will introduce selected passages from the text(s) for the week, identifying issues, methods, and orientation. All members are expected to study beforehand the readings for the week, and to take part in the ensuing discussion. Students intending to take the seminar should notify Dr. Brown, so that assignments may be made before the seminar begins. Assignments will be made on a first-come-first-served basis.
