DESCRIPTION: This course is the first quarter of a three-quarter sequence
designed to give the student a thorough basic knowledge of the phonology,
morphology, and syntax of New Testament Greek. Periodic quizzes and tests help
the student to monitor his or her progress. The class will be conducted
entirely in Spanish. Students are expected to register in Winter and in Spring
for LG512B and LG512C in this same section.
COURSE OBJECTIVES/LEARNING OUTCOMES: At the end of the three quarters the
student will be able to grammatically analyze and translate the text of the New
Testament. The student will be able to interact with critical commentaries and
to use the language tools to enrich his/her exegetical work with the New
Testament.
RELEVANCE FOR MINISTRY: The course will provide the student with basic skills
in Greek grammar needed for preaching, teaching, and personal devotion.
COURSE FORMAT: The class will meet twice weekly for two-hour sessions. The
course method is based on preparation of carefully designed lessons
before coming to class. The class sessions consist of recitation and
discussion of questions and problems, as well as presentations of material as
