LG512C: BEGINNING READINGS IN NEW TESTAMENT GREEK (4 units). Craig Allen Hill

DESCRIPTION: This course is the third quarter of Fuller’s introductory Greek sequence. Students will read Greek texts from across the New Testament, increasing their skills in reading and translating.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: Having successfully completed this course, students will have demonstrated the ability (1) to translate from the Greek NT using appropriate tools; (2) to translate NT passages of varying authorship, difficulty levels, and genres; (3) to defend translation decisions; and (4) to explain the function of various noun, pronoun, adjective, and verb forms.

RELATIONSHIP TO PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES: This course introduces students to Greek, so that students will be able to study the New Testament in its original language. The course thus helps to build skill in interpreting the New Testament, which contributes to the PLO, “Students will have demonstrated competence in the practice of biblical interpretation for faithful use of Scripture in their own lives and ministries” (MDiv).
