LG502B: BEGINNING HEBREW (4 Units: 160 Hours). Matthew A. Thomas.
DESCRIPTION: This course comprises the second half of a two-quarter introduction to biblical Hebrew. Students enrolling in this course have completed LG502A in the previous quarter with the same instructor (transferring between sections is not permitted).
LEARNING OUTCOMES: At the end of this two-course sequence, the student will be able to (1) read aloud from the Hebrew Bible; (2) write legibly in a standard Hebrew script; (3) recognize and use high frequency vocabulary of biblical Hebrew; (4) identify basic word forms, grammatical structures, and syntax; (5) translate short passages from the Hebrew Bible using a standard lexicon and other tools.
COURSE FORMAT: This course will be conducted online on a ten-week schedule aligned with Fuller’s academic calendar for a total of 40 instructional hours. Students are required to interact with the material, with each other, and with the instructor regularly through online discussions, reading, and other assignments that promote active learning.

RELATIONSHIP TO CURRICULUM: The completed two quarter sequence LG502A/B meets the Hebrew requirement in the 120 MDiv Program.
