FT550C: Practicum Consultation Group. MFT Faculty.
DESCRIPTION:
Practicum
Consultation (FT550C) is a required component of FT550 Practicum in Marriage
and Family Therapy. Practicum consultation groups are required for students who
are in the 2nd or 3rd year of the program and are
concurrently enrolled in practicum. Practicum students are required to attend one
hour per week of practicum consultation during the Fall, Winter, and Spring
quarters of their 2nd or 3rd year in the program. Practicum
consultation is intended to promote a student’s clinical development through
discussion of case review, clinical practice, and the program’s curriculum.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES:
1. Students
will demonstrate conceptualization of a practicum case.
2. Students
will gain knowledge in applied case conceptualization.
3. Student
will develop personal awareness of their role as a MFT Trainee.
4. Students
will develop skills in conducting MFT interventions.
5. Students
will demonstrate the ability to discuss integration issues in clinical
practice.
RELATIONSHIP TO SCHOOL AND SEMINARY LEARNING OUTCOMES:
1. Graduates
will develop the clinical and ethical competence commensurate with the
expectations of post-graduate MFT internship placement.
2. Graduates

COURSE FORMAT:
This 0 unit
course will meet once a week. Classes will include case discussion and
demonstration. Attendance is required.

ASSIGNMENTS:
Submit one case presentation during the
quarter.
PREREQUISITES:
Currently enrolled in FT550 Practicum.
