NS512: JESUS AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD. Seyoon Kim.


DESCRIPTION:

An exegetical and systematic study of the central message of Jesus. The course involves a study of the historical Jesus, including his self-understanding and aim, and also a reflection on our existence today under the kingship of God. It concludes with a study on the relationship between Jesus' "gospel of the kingdom of God" and the apostolic "gospel" of his death and resurrection.

RELEVANCE FOR MINISTRY:
A thorough understanding of Jesus' gospel of the kingdom of God is essential to Christian ministry.
