DESCRIPCIÓN: El énfasis de este curso es la vocación. Enseña a los estudiantes su significado y les invita a planear, al mismo tiempo, un rumbo de acción y estudio que les preparará para su llamamiento. El curso también aborda temas que de forma natural se plantean los estudiantes cuando tratan el tema de la vocación (ej. Las finanzas)

OBJETIVOS DEL APRENDIZAJE: (1) Los estudiantes podrán mostrar una comprensión teológica del concepto de vocación. (2) Los estudiantes desarrollarán habilidades que les permitirán aplicar de forma práctica sus conocimientos teológicos para valerse en situaciones cotidianas. (3) Los estudiantes adquirirán conocimiento personalizado en cuanto al uso de sus finanzas. (4) Los estudiantes investigarán diferentes prácticas espirituales.

FORMATO DEL CURSO:  La clase se reunirá una vez por semana todos los martes por 4 horas aproximadamente (6:30 - 9:50pm) , con un total de 33 horas de enseñanza en el aula por medio de conferencias y debates ( incluyendo 10 horas de participación en grupos de formación y vocación ), más 7 horas de actividades de aprendizaje dirigidas (Fechas: 18 octubre, 9:00 – 11:30am , Justo González Center Lectures y 15 de noviembre, 9:00-12:00, un retiro de oración) hasta un total de 40 horas lectivas.

TAREAS Y EVALUACIÓN:

  1. Se requiere la lectura de 1225 páginas y completar un diario de lectura (5%) [83 horas]

  2. Realización de cinco ensayos, cada uno de 750 palabras en el que se usará la teología práctica para abordar temas de la vida diaria (25%). [Esta tarea se relaciona con el objetivo del aprendizaje #2. [45 horas].

  3. Realización de ejercicios espirituales incluyendo <<Lectio Divina>> o <<el Examen>> y la escritura de un lamento (15%). [Esta tarea se relaciona con el objetivo de enseñanza #4]. [13 horas].

  4. Llevar a cabo un plan financiero por escrito y una autobiografía en cuanto al uso personal del dinero. (15%) [Esta tarea se relaciona con el objetivo de enseñanza #3]. [7 horas]

  5. Redactar un ensayo sobre el concepto de vocación y un plan curricular (20%) [Esta tarea se relaciona con el objetivo de enseñanza #1]. [6 horas].

  6. Realizar una entrevista sobre el tema de la vocación (20%) [Esta tarea se relaciona con el objetivo de enseñanza #1]. [6 horas].

DESCRIPTION: This course focuses on vocation. It teaches students the meaning of vocation and then invites them to plan a course of study that will prepare them for that calling. The course will also address issues that regularly arise as students investigate vocation (e.g. finances).

LEARNING OUTCOMES: (1) Students will demonstrate an understanding of the theological concept of vocation; (2) students will demonstrate an ability to use practical theology to make sense of everyday situations; (3) Students will demonstrate knowledge of personal finance; (4) Students will investigate spiritual practices.

COURSE FORMAT: This class meets once per week for three and a half hour sessions for a total of 35 hours of classroom instruction for lecture and discussion (including 10 hours of participation in vocation and formation groups) plus 5 hours of directed learning activities for a total of 40 instructional hours.
