ST501: SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY 1: THEOLOGY AND ANTHROPOLOGY (Taught in Korean).

DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to provide a theological understanding of Christian beliefs about revelation, Scripture, the triune God, creation, the providence of God and evil, human beings in the image of God, the fall and sin. The topics will be discussed as formulated from the Reformed, ecumenical, and contextual perspectives.

SIGNIFICANCE FOR LIFE AND MINISTRY: Students will be prepared to do ministry as they learn to think theologically on the issues of faith and ministry in their own tradition and other traditions.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: Students completing this course will have demonstrated (1) a basic understanding of the topics in the traditional and the contemporary formulations; (2) an ability to reflect theologically upon these topics; (3) an acquaintance with the various socio-economic and cultural contexts, including the Korean/Korean-American context; (4) skills towards developing one's own theology in one's own context; (5) an appreciation of ecumenical and cultural diversity.

COURSE FORMAT: The class will meet once a week in three-hour sessions for lectures and discussions.
