DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to help theological students meet the French language requirements in advanced degree programs. Combining both a deductive and an inductive approach to learning, it provides an introduction to French grammar and vocabulary, and it enables students to read and translate selected passages from the French Bible as well as theological documents available in French only.

The course meets twice weekly for two-hour sessions for ten weeks.

Students will read and translate various passages from the required texts, as well as from various handouts. There will be daily homework assignments and quizzes. Each student is expected to be present at all the class sessions with assigned lessons fully prepared.
